Start of the 2025-2026 Admission Period at Moldova State University (USM)
Moldova State University (USM), the largest and most prestigious higher education institution in the Republic of Moldova, is pleased to announce the opening of the admission sessions for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Admission Calendar 2025
Main Session
- July 21–27: Online submission of application files.
- July 28–August 3: Verification and validation of files.
- August 5: Announcement of preliminary results.
- August 6–10: Submission of original documents in person at the USM headquarters.
- August 12: Display of final results.
Supplementary Admission Session
- August 13–15: Online submission of application files.
- August 16–18: Verification and validation of files.
- August 20: Announcement of preliminary results.
- August 21–23: Submission of original documents in person at the USM headquarters.
- August 24: Display of final results.
Important for International Applicants:
Foreign students are required to submit their original documents in person at the USM headquarters during the designated periods above.
Please note: Applicants who require an invitation from the Migration Inspectorate must follow a different procedure. Detailed instructions can be found on the pages for Preparatory Year, Bachelor Degree, and Master.
Moldova State University welcomes international students from all over the world. Our admission process is designed to be clear and accessible. Below you'll find all the information you need to apply to our programs.
Cycle I, Bachelor Degree
The enrollment of candidates for the admission competition can be done both through physical presence at the university and by electronically submitting the participation file, using institutional software or accessible ICT tools.
Required Documents
- International passport, valid for at least one year
- Residence permit in the country of residence (if available)
- Copy of marriage certificate (if applicable) with legalized translation in an international language
- Certified copy and translation of birth certificate, if not in an international language
- Certificate of graduation of training courses for foreigners (if applicable)
- Study documents: original copy with legalized translation of the baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent and diploma supplement (legalized translation in Romanian or an international language).
Documents must be apostilled/superlegalized according to the issuing country’s and Moldova’s legislation. Originals are presented at the University and kept until graduation. - Original, valid criminal record from the country of origin, legalized/apostilled, translated into the state language and notarized (except minors under 16)

Application Process

- Apply for a visa (if required)
- Arrive in Moldova and present original documents
- Open a bank account with the required initial amount
- Register at the university and arrange accommodation
Tips & Clarifications
- Legalization & Apostille: Check if your country is a Hague Convention member for apostille, otherwise follow superlegalization procedures.
- Translations: Use certified translators and notarize translations where required.
- Budgeting: Plan for tuition, fees, living expenses, and medical insurance. Hostel accommodation is affordable (~60 Euro/month).
- Health Insurance: Mandatory (~650 Euro); factor into your budget.
- Document Preparation: Obtain criminal record and other documents early, as processing and legalization can take time.
- Submission: Choose between online or in-person submission. Keep copies of all documents.
- Follow-Up: Stay in contact with the admissions office for updates and additional requests.
- Arrival: Ensure you have ~5,400 Euro for bank account and initial costs.
- Support: Communicate with the university’s international student office for guidance.

Financial Planning Guide
Initial Financial Requirements
Required funds upon arrival for bank account opening:

This covers initial living expenses, accommodation, medical insurance, and part of tuition fees. The student is also required to deposit into the university account the equivalent amount of the cost of the return plane ticket to the country of origin.

Important Financial Tips
Document Legalization: Understand the difference between apostille and legalization based on your country's agreements with Moldova.
